We have now completed the migration of your account to your new branch. In order to ensure uninterrupted access to your accounts through Online Banking and the Mobile App, we've provided some quick tips below, including:
If you are a former Bunting or Huggins Member Mobile App or Online Banking user and your login details were set up as a Saved Login, you'll need to update your login details to ensure continued access. This will ensure that you are able to select the correct branch post migration.
There are two options in order to do this:
1. Re-install the Mobile App
2. Update your login credentials
If your personal account was linked in your Member Direct Small Business account log in, you will need to link that account again with your new branch log in information.
As a member-owned co-operative, it is critical that we continue to evolve our credit union to accommodate the needs of our membership in a rapidly changing business environment, while continuing to produce strong business results.
Evaluating our branch strategy and physical footprint has always been part of our 5-year strategic plan, however COVID-19 has expedited this need. The pandemic has introduced additional considerations, such as the requirement for safe social distancing, which is not possible to achieve within our current branch design at Bunting Road and Huggins Street, and as of March 2020, these locations were temporarily closed.
In consultation with our Board of Directors, and other business considerations, we have made the decision to merge the Bunting Road and Huggins Street branches with our Fourth Avenue and Dorchester Road branches respectively.
We remain 100% committed to the Niagara region – including St.Catharines and Niagara Falls, and we will continue to invest in these markets, and we will continue to give back to the entire Niagara community as part of our Truly Local Commitment.
We are also investing in our digital banking platform and other remote banking options that will provide our Members with more choices in how they bank with us. And, as always, our Members will continue to have access to the ding free® network of over 40 ATMs in Niagara, and 3,600 ATMs across Canada without additional surcharges.
PenFinancial’s Bunting Road and Huggins Street branches, which have been temporarily closed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, will permanently close. Member accounts will be automatically transitioned to nearby branches in mid-January 2021.
If Members prefer to have their accounts transferred to another PenFinancial branch, they may do so by contacting us at 1-866-272-4275.
We have also begun to actively search for a new location in Niagara Falls. This new branch will merge both the Huggins Street and Dorchester Road branches to provide a more modern branch presence, and better enable us to support our Members’ needs.
Both the Bunting Road and Huggins Street locations will remain closed. The transition of Member accounts will take place in mid-January 2021.
The opening of a new branch in Niagara Falls is targeted for 2021.

If you would prefer to transition to a different branch, please call us at 1-866-272-4275.
To minimize the impact on our Members, we will be working directly with those whose primary branch was either Bunting Road or Huggins Street to ensure a smooth transition. In most cases, the Advisor you are used to working with will also transition ensuring continuity for our Members.
Yes. The ATMs will remain in their current locations until the end of 2020, however, they will be available for dispensing cash only. This means that you cannot deposit cheques or cash at these machines.
To deposit a cheque, consider using our Online Banking App which allows you the ability to deposit cheques anytime, anywhere – without needing to visit a branch or ATM.
As always, as a PenFinancial Member, you will continue to have access to the ding free® network of over 40 ATMs in Niagara, and 3,600 ATMs across Canada without additional surcharges.
There are no changes required to your PenFinancial account numbers, bank cards, statements or cheques.
Any existing pre-authorized debits, credits or other recurring transfers you have set up on your accounts will be migrated.
When logging in to PenFinancial Online Banking, after your account migrates you will need to select your new branch.

We have begun to actively search for a new location in Niagara Falls. This new branch will merge both the Huggins Street and Dorchester Road branches to provide a more modern branch presence, and better enable us to support our Members’ needs.
There are currently no plans to close additional branches. However, we are currently in the process of actively searching for a new location in Niagara Falls to better serve our Members and provide a more modern banking experience. This branch will eventually merge both the Huggins Street and Dorchester Road locations.
We are actively searching for a new location in Niagara Falls to better serve our Members and provide a more modern banking experience.
Ensuring the continued satisfaction of our Members is our top priority and it’s important to us that our Members are supported throughout the transition. As a member-owned co-operative, it is critical that we continue to evolve our credit union to accommodate the needs of our membership in a rapidly changing business environment, while continuing to produce strong business results. Based on evaluating several factors, including the changes to how people are banking, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and our desire to provide a more modern banking experience for our Members, we determined that the Bunting Road and Huggins Street branches are not aligned to our longer-term strategy.

PenFinancial remains financially strong and we meet or exceed all regulatory and policy minimum standards. We continue to build towards a robust and sustainable future by investing our Members’ resources in an efficient, effective and value-added way.
We are also pleased to report that we have not experienced any job losses either as a result of the pandemic, or as a direct result of these changes.
Not at all. We are extremely proud of our Truly Local Commitment and will continue to work with our community partners to help improve lives and strengthen communities.
There will be no job losses as a direct result of these changes, and we continue to be a proud Living Wage employer.
